Hi there. You’re completely right, I’ve noticed that that too. There seems to be an increasing need for a stage in front of traditional planning to ensure you identify the right parameters, people and approaches. This needs to be a very open-ended creative phase. To generate such an environment, I’m making more use of Transformation maps, (or TMaps) which is a great team tool. It helps teams identify and agree broad strands of responsibility like communication and stakeholders. It has a Vision statement in the top corner to ensure everyone stays focussed too.
