About us

Maureen Whyman is the founder of Lose the Box. In recognition of her continued work on Business Improvement in the public sector, she’s held a Fellowship of the Chartered Quality Institute for 15 years. With an MA in Quality Management and Improvement, she has a strong combination of academic, strategic and practical knowledge to support and guide you.

Maureen was born in Yorkshire and raised in a caring, medical family environment. RSCN0654 She takes pride in her down to earth approach and values authenticity as a key strength. She is passionate about making a difference and leaving a legacy to future generations.

Business Improvement has fascinated Maureen since graduating in Zoology and discovering quality control. She’s established quality systems in food and industrial plants, social enterprises, and public sector, meaning she’s a real expert in tailoring business improvement approaches for you.

Maureen is an experienced facilitator in Business Excellence, Total Quality Management and Lean Thinking. Her extensive experience and behavioural training give her a unique, non-intrusive way of working, which inspires confidence, capability and commitment to improvement in others.

How we work

Partnership working is at the heart of what we do. We coach and challenge people to be the best they can be. Our tried and tested approach applies equally to complex change and quick wins. Plus it can be applied to the public sector, business environments, healthcare providers, local authorities and social enterprises.

We initially focus on changing mind-sets and behaviours to embrace the changes ahead. Then we give people ways to use their new behaviours, in the shape of new technology, tools and processes.
